Watching Czech amateur deaf films in the Jan Palach Library, Charles University, Prague. They have been digitized by Peter Panek and the Institute for Deaf Studies.
The Deaf Cinema has been presented at the Society for the History of Technology (SHOT) conference in Los Angeles, California in October 2023. Magdalena Zdrodowska presented a paper on the rise of deaf audiences as a result of cinema's transition to sound. In December Zdrodowska and Sławomir Łotysz will take part in the panel on Disability Discourses in Modern Eastern Europe during Association for Slavic, East European, and Eurasian Studies (ASEEES) in Philadelphia. They will discuss Polish deaf television during communist regime, and deaf film festivals.
